Monday - 8:30am to 1pm / 2pm to 6:30pm

Tuesday - 8:30am to 1pm / 2pm to 6:30pm 

Wednesday - 8:30am to 1pm / 2pm to 6:30pm 

Thursday - 8:30am to 2:30pm 

Friday - 8:30am to 1pm / 2pm to 6:00pm

We will close for lunch everyday (except Thursdays) from 1pm - 2pm.  During this time our telephone calls will be diverted.  This will allow all staff to have a full uninterrupted lunch break at the same time. 

NHS takes the wellbeing of staff very seriously and they have asked all organisations to make improvements to this for staff. We have chosen this time as records show this has the least impact on you in terms of attending the surgery or calling the surgery.

Patients must ring the GP Practice, this will divert to the out of hours service:

0114 246 9030 - both surgeries

Initial demographic details are taken (entered onto computer system) and then a doctor phones the patient back to make a more detailed clinical assessment. At this stage the doctor will then decide with the patient the best course of action. One option is to arrange an appointment with a doctor at the GP Centre. At this stage patients are normally given an appointment time and instructions on how to get to the GP Centre.

Patients just turning up without going through the proper process and don't have an appointment will not be seen.

The practice will be closed for staff training one afternoon a month from 1.00pm.  Should you need a doctor during this time, please telephone the surgery number and your call will be dealt with by the GP collaborative.

Assessments are carried out by experienced NHS Nurses. The service is open to anyone who can normally access NHS services. The Centre offers more convenient access to healthcare advice than A&E and you may be seen quicker.

The Walk-in Centre can help with:

• Coughs, colds, flu like symptoms
• Skin complaints – rashes, sunburn, head lice, nappy rash.
• Stomach ache, indigestion, constipation, vomiting and diarrhoea
• Muscle and joint injuries – strains and sprains
• Emergency contraception
• Hayfever, bites, stings
• Women’s health problems – thrush, menstrual advice.
• Treatment of minor infections- dispensing antibiotics
• General healthcare assessments
• Information on staying healthy

Community Pharmacists 

Your local pharmacy offers a range of services and advice for minor illness such as coughs, headache, earache, sore throats and stomach upsets.

They can suggest over-the-counter remedies or, if you don’t pay for your prescriptions, some pharmacists will be able to prescribe medicines to treat these conditions and they will be free.

Opening hours may be longer than GP surgeries.
